People come to counselling for many reasons.  Perhaps a particular event has occurred, such as the death of a loved one or the loss of a relationship, and you are struggling to find your way.  Sometimes there’s no particular event, but anxiety, depression, fear, loneliness, overwhelming emotions, or past experiences are holding you back from living a full life.  You may feel disconnected, distressed or lacking direction.

For many, being seen, heard and understood can be a profound first step in achieving a greater sense of wellbeing, and that’s what counselling can offer.  My aim is to help you feel more connected, empowered and energised to live a wholehearted life.

Since 2018 I have worked with individuals and families who have been affected by the sudden, violent and traumatic death of a loved one, through homicide or road crashes.  It is a privilege to accompany a person trying to make sense of such unimaginable grief and loss.  It can be extremely difficult to just sit with what can’t be fixed, but I have learnt so much from my vulnerable yet resilient clients.  From that experience I can offer a safe, haven at a time when all may seem hopeless.

I am an approved Victims of Crime counsellor and have worked with clients who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, and physical assault.  I use a person centred, collaborative approach within an existential framework, drawing on a range of therapies, including acceptance and commitment therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy.
